I  Installation & Setup
====================================================
1. Installing Immortal Throne
To install the Titan Quest: Immortal Throne expansion pack, Titan Quest must already be installed on your computer. You will also need 2.5 GB of free disk space.

Insert the Immortal Throne program disc and choose "Install" from the autorun menu. If no autorun
menu appears, open the program disc manually (through My Computer), and run "Launch.exe".

Note: Titan Quest will automatically be patched to version 1.3 if it is not at a higher version already.

2. CD Key Issues
When installing Titan Quest: Immortal Throne, you will be prompted to enter your CD authentication key. The authentication key appears on the back cover of the manual. It is important that you enter the key string in its entirety exactly as it appears on the manual.

3. Running Immortal Throne
Once the game has been successfully installed, it is easy to play. Either select Play from the game disc autorun menu, or look for the Titan Quest - Immortal Throne shortcut on your desktop, or under the Start Menu, under Programs\THQ.

The first time you run Immortal Throne, all of your existing Titan Quest characters will automatically be imported. See below for more details.

====================================================
II Getting Started
====================================================
1. Welcome to the Immortal Throne
Titan Quest: Immortal Throne lets you return to your adventures in the world of Titan Quest, wherever you left off. In it you will find new merchant types, new equipment types, an entire new mastery, and well over ten hours in an entirely new adventure, composed of entirely new levels and monsters. That's more than enough to keep you busy!

2. Importing Characters
The first time you run Immortal Throne, any saved Titan Quest characters will automatically be imported into the expansion. This process may take several minutes.

The import process DOES NOT delete or change the Titan Quest saves. With the imported characters, you are able to continue your adventures exactly from where you left off, with all of the added features of the expansion pack. When you beat the original game, the victory portal will take you directly to the beginning of the expansion.

You can import characters from Titan Quest at any later time, simply by selecting Play Titan Quest from the main menu, then Import. Imported characters cannot be shared, merged, or imported back into the original Titan Quest versions.

6.  Release Notes

- For players using the German and French versions of the game, a dialog patch will install when Titan Quest: Immortal Throne is launched for the first time. This patch will replace the English voice over files in the original Titan Quest game with French or German versions. To ensure this patch executes correctly please have your language set to French or German in the Titan Quest Options screen before installing the Immortal Throne expansion.

- Some lower end video cards may have difficulty displaying text (some text may render as small blocks) at higher graphics settings. If you are experiencing this problem lower your graphics settings on the Video Options menu.

- Minimizing the game while hosting a multiplayer game in full screen mode will result in a sync issue on the clients where monsters may become unresponsive.

- Players using custom key bindings will need to re-configure them from the options menu. All keybindings have been reset to default on install to accommodate keys for new features.

2. Improving Performance

a. Tuning Your Settings
Titan Quest: Immortal Throne settings should be automatically tuned to your system specifications. If the game performs poorly at the default settings, experiment with lowering various graphics options.

Try lowering these options first:

- Resolution: Immortal Throne looks great even at lower resolutions. If you do not have a high end video card, try running in 1024x768 or even 800x600.
- Shadows and Reflections: These features will have a smaller impact on the visual quality of Titan Quest: Immortal Throne. Try lowering these before you lower Detail Level setting. The shadow setting has more of an effect than reflections.
- Detail Level can have the biggest impact on game performance, but also affects the overall quality of all Titan Quest visuals.

b. Defragmentation
If your game seems slow because it is reading from the hard drive frequently or constantly, you may need to defragment your hard drive. The Windows defragmenter utility can be found via the Start Menu, under Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools. Depending on the size of the disk, this procedure may take some time.

3. Video & Audio

a. Video Drivers
You should make sure that you have the latest version of your video card drivers and DirectX. If you own an NVidia or ATI video card, download and install the latest drivers through their website:

	www.ati.com
	www.nvidia.com

Get the latest version of DirectX at the following URL:

	www.microsoft.com/windows/directx

b. Widescreen Resolutions
Some of the available resolutions listed under video options are designed for widescreen displays. This is noted to the right of the screen size. Selecting a widescreen resolution for a normal display, or vice versa, will result in distorted game visuals.

c. Audio Drivers
Please make sure you have the latest drivers for your sound card when running Titan Quest: Immortal Throne.

d. Overly quiet or missing combat sounds:
This situation can happen if your computer is configured for a 5.1 surround system and you only have a 2.1 system attached. Please make sure you have your proper speaker configuration set in the windows Sounds and Audio Devices control panel. This setting can be found on the "Volume" tab under the "Advanced..." button.

4. Known Issues

a. Linksys BEFSR41 v.4 Router
This router has a hardware configuration which makes it unable to play Titan Quest (or any Gamespy-powered game). There is no fix for this problem at this time.

b. Integrated Video
Titan Quest and Titan Quest: Immortal Throne do not support any video hardware that is integrated into a system motherboard.

c. Modified Titan Quest Files
Because Titan Quest: Immortal Throne updates many core files, if your installation of Titan Quest has been significantly modified in any way, you may need to uninstall and then reinstall Titan Quest, in order for Immortal Throne to be successfully installed and run.
